SheetSmith Privacy Policy

What we access

SheetSmith connects to your Google account using the Google Drive "drive.file" scope. This scope is intentionally limited: it only lets SheetSmith see and manage files that you create or upload through SheetSmith itself.

SheetSmith cannot see, list, read, or modify any other files or folders in your Google Drive. It has no access to content you didn't create or upload through this app, and no ability to browse your Drive.

Where your files are stored

When you connect your Google account, SheetSmith creates a single folder named "sheetsmith.app" in your own Google Drive ("My Drive"). Files you upload through SheetSmith are stored in that folder, in your Drive — not on servers we control.

Because the folder lives in your own Drive, you remain the owner of your files at all times and can delete them directly from Drive as well as from within SheetSmith.

What we do with your files

Files you upload are used solely to run the tools you choose to run on them — for example, cleaning a CSV file by de-duplicating rows. Tool output (such as a cleaned copy of a file) is written back to the same "sheetsmith.app" folder in your Drive.

We store minimal account and operational metadata (such as your Google account identifier, email, and a record of which tool runs you've performed) to make the app work and to show you the status of your files. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Account and session data

We store an encrypted copy of the Google authorization tokens needed to access the "sheetsmith.app" folder on your behalf, and a server-side session so you stay signed in. Tokens are encrypted at rest and are never logged.

You can revoke SheetSmith's access at any time from your Google Account's third-party access settings, which immediately stops any further access to your Drive folder.
